Rapid Responses

To assist state department of education (SDE) staff in promptly addressing queries from policymakers or school-district personnel, the SECC compiles evidence-based information and develops summary documents, which are called Rapid Responses. To ensure quality responses, SECC staff conduct interviews with clients to gain a thorough understanding of the query and the context in which the information will be used and conduct Web-based and hand searches to obtain materials that are relevant to the requested topic.

If you are an SDE staff member and would like to request a Rapid Response, complete the Rapid Response form. A SECC staff member or state liaison will contact you to process the request.

Below is a list of select Rapid Responses that have been completed in response to requests from SDE staff. Topics include NCLB-related issues such as teacher quality, school improvement, curriculum and instruction, as well as accountability and assessment.

Click on a title to view a detailed description of the request, including a link to download a PDF of the Rapid Response.
