Mississippi Department of Education (MDE): Response to Intervention (RtI) for MDE staff

The Mississippi Department of Education (MDE) through the Office of Instructional Programs and Services and the Office of Curriculum and Instruction is providing a 1.5 hours orientation on Response to Intervention (RtI) specifically for MDE staff. The purpose of this overview is to develop and increase basic understanding of MDE's Intervention Policy and RtI initiatives among MDE staff.
The orientation will be conducted at the Jackson Marriott on August 20, 21, and 26. MDE employees should register for one of the following sessions no later than August 15, 2008.

RtI Session III: August 21 8:30-10:00
RtI Session IV: August 21 10:30-12:00

The Southeast Comprehensive Center at SEDL will facilitate a strategic planning session for the Division of Quality Professionals and Special Schools to help the staff deepen their understanding of the goals and strategies set by the Mississippi Board of Education. The session outcomes include developing plans to align the work of the Center for Teaching/Recruitment and the Office of Educator Licensure with the State Board goals and to have individuals within these bureaus develop personal work goals and strategies to accomplish those goals.
